Wakestyle Mobe Print

Wakestyle Mobes

The wakestyle mobe is that trick that solidifies you into the pro category.  You won't get sponsored just because you can do this trick, but there are some "pros" out there who can't do this trick.

Prerequsites:

Unhooking mastered. Backrolls and/or frontrolls mastered.  Tantrums mastered.  Surface handle passes mastered.

To the Point:

Do an unhooked, clean, vertical, roll.  As your feet go directly above your head, pull the control bar as hard as you can to your back hip, pass the handle, and land.

The Detailed Explanation:

Step One:
Unhook.  Make sure you are riding with good speed, but without having too much pull from the kite.

Step Two:
Throw your backroll.  Make sure it's a clean backroll, where you are more vertical.  If you are wondering where to put your board while it's in the air, think of getting your back foot in front of you, and then bringing it over your head.

Step Three:
As you feet continue going up, but after your feet are pointed up at an angle, pull the bar as hard as you can to your back hip.  This should cause you to start twisting.  You should be fully twisted by the time your feet are straight up, or inverted.

Step Four:
Pass the handle at the moment of near weightlessness, while you are upside down and have already twisted, so you are looking up wind.  Well, probably your eyes are closed. . .

Step Five:
You momentum will continue your rotation, if you backroll was good.  As you come down you shoudln't have too much pull from the kite, so just land as usual, with your board pointed downwind and flat on your board.

Words of Wisdom:

The landing will be good, if your takeoff and pass were clean.  It helps to have a high strength-to-weight ratio, so you can muscle through mistakes, and manipulate your own body weight easily while learning.
